A private investigator, 34-year-old Lentheng Fortune Letshele, appeared in the Kempton Park Magistrates’ Court yesterday, Monday 17 February 2014, on charges of bribery.
The man, who is also working as a security manager at a reputable company in Johannesburg, was arrested by the Pretoria Anti-Corruption Unit of the Hawks on Friday, 14 February 2014, in Kempton Park.
He attempted to bribe a Pretoria prosecutor with R2000.00 to have a theft of motor vehicle case against his brother squashed.
The suspect made an appointment with the Pretoria-based prosecutor at the Kempton Park Magistrates’ Court for the transaction to take place.
His younger brother, Peter Letshele, allegedly stole a vehicle from a Pretoria vehicle dealership in 2012 and the case against him is still underway.
Mr Letshele was granted R3000.00 bail and the case has been reminded to 3 March 2014.
Currently the two Letshele brothers, Fortune and Peter, have criminal cases pending against them.
