Minutes after a delivery vehicle was hijacked in the Nyanga area, the swift response of two police members on patrol wanting to ensure that offenders are brought to justice, resulted in their arrest.
This afternoon the driver of a LDV delivery beds in the area fell victim to a hijacking when two suspects pulled him from his vehicle and drove off with the cargo. Members of the community informed the police and immediately the area was search. The hijacked vehicle was spotted without the beds shortly afterwards and after the driver made an attempted to escape, he was arrested. He led police to an address where the second suspect was arrested in possession of the beds.
Both suspects aged 25 and 35 are due to make a court appearance on Monday on charges of hijacking and the possession of stolen property.
