n case you missed it last week. There are 180 unclaimed stolen & hijacked vehicles being stored at the military base in Musina.
Most of these vehicles were stolen or hijacked in Gauteng & KZN, & have been seized in border operations while being smuggled into Zimbabwe – Mainly at Beitbridge border post.
Please contact Limpopo SAPS communications department if you believe your vehicle may be there or alternatively let your insurance company know so they can investigate & possibly recover the vehicle for auction which should help reduce the overall cost of insurance premiums.
Sadly there is ongoing insistence & plausible speculation in many public forums by reliable officials who indicate that that many corrupt SA officials are involved in criminal syndicates responsible for smuggling stolen vehicles & other contraband into Zimbabwe & other surrounding countries.
This ongoing corruption is very discouraging for dedicated clean officials.
Honest officials who are fighting crime are also despondent because as fast as they arrest cross border smugglers, the magistrates are letting these criminals off with suspended sentences or minimal bail conditions. Case files are being compromised by corrupt officials. This makes many feel they are fighting a losing battle.
