A conviction for violent crime will disqualify you from driving with a PRDP

Question:

I have a degree with good experience but companies will not hire me because of my fine for malicious damage to property. When next year comes [5 years after the incident], will my name will be cleared automatically or do I have to go clear it myself. If so, how?

Answer:

Regulation 117 of the NRT Regulations does not allow a PRDP for passengers and dangerous goods to be issued if you have a previous conviction for a violent crime – malicious damage to property falls in that category. However, you may get a PRDP for goods with such a conviction.
