The Koegelenberg Sergeants, Francois and Shiela, are not only partners in marriage but they are formidable police partners. They recently had a split second to defuse an armed robbery.
This heroic instance occurred on Wednesday 2014-05-21 at approximately 15:00 at the busy Metro Chain store in Town Two, Khayelitsha.
They were patrolling the area when they spotted two suspects armed with pistols approaching a vehicle from both sides.
They both tactically moved towards the scene and started to fire warning shots. Both suspects turned around and ran to different directions. The officers ensured that the two people did not fall victim to brazen criminals.
The visible traumatised victims were taken to Harare SAPS for counseling.
The Station Commander of Harare SAPS, Colonel Raboliba, commended the members for their bravery.
