Question:
Can you please help me with a question regarding the towing of a vehicle (beach buggy) with a fitted a-frame? I need to tow the above mentioned car using an a-frame from one town to another, but is not sure of all the legal stuff behind towing it. For one, should the car be a registered roadworthy vehicle, the car has been registered before, but isn’t registered in my friends name yet, last license date is 2011. The overall condition of the buggy is still fine, only miner engine problems to be sorted, thus the towing issue. Please can you advise on this?
Answer:
If the vehicle is not licensed it may not drive on its own wheels. You should either get a temporary 3 day permit to tow it or put it on a trailer.
