Dealership flagged in connection with a large-scale fraud syndicate

Members of SAPS and the Gauteng Traffic Wardens acted following intelligence regarding a blue Audi S3 suspected to be fitted with cloned number plates. The information was further validated by Safetynet, which confirmed the presence of the vehicle.

A tactical engagement was carried out to intercept the vehicle. Investigations revealed that the vehicle was listed as sought on the National Circulation Database.

Further investigations uncovered that the dealership where the vehicle was purchased had already been flagged by the Hawks and district authorities in connection with a large-scale fraud syndicate. The matter is under active investigation.
