Do the police have the right to confiscate a car license disk for blue park lights?

Answer:

It is unlawful for any motor vehicle, other than a police or traffic authority vehicle to have blue lights.

The traffic authorities do have the right to issue a notification to discontinue use of your vehicle and confiscate your licence disc in these circumstances and the remedy thereto is to rectify the problem, take your vehicle for a free roadworthy test and get a new licence disc if your vehicle passes the roadworthy test.

The moral of the story is that your car is not a Christmas tree and should not be adorned with any lights other than those which are fitted as standard equipment and/or prescribed by law.
