ECSA received a call to assist a family in need when their house caught alight in Maraisburg, Florida.
Upon arrival, it was established that the house was fully involved.
Members immediately assisted with sourcing a fire hydrant, while our secondary crews started to attack the fire.
City of Joburg Fire and FireOps arrived on the scene shortly after and their crews set up to different parts of the house to do our best to stop the the fire from spreading.
It was unfortunate that the fire did spread with a tremendous amount of speed and all teams fought to bring the fire under control.
Resources from Help24 EMS were on the scene to treat patients for smoke inhalation.
After a few hours, the fire was completely out, and damping down started.
One patient was transported to the hospital for further treatment.
COJ EMS fire investigator arrived on scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
Heartfelt condolences to the family who lost everything in the fire. It is a real tragedy as they have lost everything.
