5 Functions of Engine Oil:
• The main function is to lubricate the internal combustion to keep the engine running smoothly.
• Reduces metal to metal contact between moving parts, thus reducing friction and increasing engine performance to improve fuel efficiency.
• The oil acts as a coolant which reduces heat build-up in the engine, preventing energy loss and engine deterioration.
• Removes impurities and carries them to the oil filter. This reduces the risk of debris building up in the engine that can cause serious damage to the engine.
• Engine oil also acts as a Gap Filler between the piston and cylinder, preventing the gases from escaping.
