Marshall Security’s Special Operation Team assisted in the recovery of a hijacked motor vehicle this morning. The vehicle a Toyota Hilux, was recovered in the Inanda area.
Shortly after handing over the Toyota, whilst the team member was leaving the area, he noticed another hijacked vehicle in the area. A Volkswagen Caddy was spotted just off a main road in the Inanda area. The vehicle which is used for the delivery of cigarettes was hijacked in the Inanda area, minutes before the SOT member spotted it.
Three armed suspects were found in the act of offloading the stock from the vehicle. The suspects noticed the Marshall Security armed reaction officer approaching and fled on foot into nearby bushes.
A search of the surrounding area was conducted however the suspects managed to evade arrest.
The scene and vehicle were secured and handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation and processing.
