How can South Africans who emigrated have their South African Licences verified?

by jonckie@arrivealive.co.za

Questions:

My husband and I have just immigrated to Canada. We require our South African drivers licenses to be verified. We contacted Doc Assist and were instructed to have certified copies of our licenses and I.D’s done at the South African Embassy in Toronto- which we did. We then sent the certified copies via courier to doc assist and they sent us ‘authentication’ back. What we received was not recognised by the Canadian license department as it only verified different people’s signatures and did not mention our names or our licenses.

His cost me almost R3000.00 and was a complete waste of money.

Please advise how I should go about getting verification of our licenses. The document needs to state our names, I.D. numbers and the types of vehicles we are licensed to drive and when our licenses were issued.

Answer:

David Motloung from the RTMC should be able to assist. He will require both your ID numbers as well as the address details where the confirmation letters will have to be mailed.
