Please advise me about the “roll” whilst doing a drivers test. If you disengage the hand break and use the clutch control and you move back less that 1cm, would you deem that a fail?

Your reply would be appreciated

Answer:

Here is how the official K53 glossary defines a ‘roll’:

No mention is made here of whether less than a cm movement while having clutch control is considered a roll which would result in an immediate failure. The middle column above states ‘uncontrolled’ motion. And the third column defines the nature of the movement, but not the distance.

It has been said that “a roll is a roll is a roll”. Any rearward movement of the car means instant failure. However, this does not apply to a vehicle settling on its suspension.
