How far does a posted speed limit still apply?

Question:

I would like to know how many kilometers a speed restriction applies to on a national road. Example: the speed limit is reduced from 120kph to 100kph but there are no signs indicating that the 100kph can be exceeded going back up to 120kph. Is there a distance that the 100kph is enforceable and thereafter it lapses and 120kph is regulation speed again. Frequently one will see the sign showing 120kph crossed out and shortly after replaced with 100kph. After traveling a long distance and no sign to cancel the 100kph frequently there will be another 100kph sign. If the 100kph was meant to be for the entire distance of that road why have more 100! kph signs along the way? The same applies to 60kph signs on a rural road that are not

How far should one travel at 60kph before reverting back to your previous speed.
Answer:

There is no specific distance in the legislation. If there is a road that crosses the road with the speed limit and other vehicles can enter that road, and such vehicles obviously did not pass the speed sign, the general speed limit will apply again from the point where the crossing road intersects or in the case of a freeway if there is an on-ramp and the lower speed limit is not repeated after the on-ramp.

If there is no crossing road or on-ramp coming onto a freeway,  the posted speed limit will apply until another limit is displayed even if it is a long distance.

Hope this is clear enough.
