WesBank has produced an infographic depicting the evolution of the concept car to tie in with its sponsorship of this month’s Johannesburg International Motor Show. Alongside images of concepts ranging from the Buick Y Job (reputed to be the world’s first concept car) to the ungainly Pontiac Aztek, the infographic is studded with interesting facts.
While few of these futuristic visions made the transition from drawing board to mainstream production some, such as the Ford Seattle-ite XII, gave rise to components such as computer aided navigation that we all take for granted today.
