A man was shot and killed late last night during an alleged hijacking incident.
Paramedics from ER24 were called to the scene on Frikkie Meyer Boulevard where they found a man with a fatal gunshot. The exact circumstances surrounding the incident is not yet clear.
It is understood from a woman and her daughter that they were apparently hijacked and kept in the vehicle along with an unknown amount of suspects. The woman explained to paramedics that they were driven around for some time until the father noticed a police vehicle and attempted to draw their attention. It is believed that it was during this time that he was shot.
Police noticed the incident and managed to pull the vehicle off the road.
The mother and her daughter were assessed on scene. They did not sustain any injuries.
