Stolen Vehicle Recovered In Joint Operation: Mawothi – KZN

A Toyota Etios that was stolen from a supermarket on Wick Street, Verulam was recovered in a joint operation between Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), the Verulam SAPS Crime Prevention Unit and Tracker this afternoon (Friday).

RUSA received a call at approximately 14:39 from a member of the public reporting a hijacking that occurred in the parking lot of the supermarket. Reaction Officers were dispatched to the store however on arrival it was established that the vehicle was stolen and not hijacked.

Officers contacted Tracker who confirmed that the vehicle was emitting signals in Mawothi. Reaction Officers, Police and Tracker Operational Members proceeded to the area and recovered the vehicle abandoned. The ignition was damaged.

It was confirmed that three men were seen fleeing from the vehicle shortly prior to the arrival of Law Enforcement.
