Suspects arrested in Grassy Park, one with a firearm and three for the possession of a hijacked vehicle #GunsOffTheStreets #CrimeStop
Western Cape: The vigilance of Grassy Park police members on patrol yesterday resulted in the arrest of a 22-year-old suspect for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm. The members were patrolling Pendoring Street when they spotted a suspicious man on a bicycle. His backpack was searched when a 9mm pistol was discovered.
In an unrelated incident during the early hours of this morning, Grassy Park members reacted on a suspicious stationary Toyota Corolla in Ottery. The vehicle and the three male occupants were searched and several Toyota keys were found in their possession, raising even more suspicion.
Further investigation by the members led them to a night club in Lansdowne where a green Toyota Tazz, hijacked earlier in Muizenberg was discovered. The three suspects, aged between 30 and 34, were arrested for the possession of a hijacked vehicle.
All of the above suspects are due to make a court appearance in Wynberg once they have been charged.
