Marshall Security Special Operations Team members assisted in the recovery of two stolen motor vehicles early Saturday morning.
In the first incident a Volkswagen Golf V was reported stolen in a hijacking in Durban’s Blue Lagoon area shortly after 01:30. The vehicle was fitted with a tracking device and monitored by Tracker, who distributed an alert to all vehicles in the northern areas. Marshall Security were called into assist and a joint effort between Tracker, Marshall Security and Metro Police saw the vehicle tracked and recovered abandoned in the Ntuzuma area, nineteen minutes after being reported stolen.
Shortly after the first recovery, a second vehicle was reported stolen in Kwamashu’s ‘F’ section, with the vehicle also fitted with Tracker, a signal was found in the Kwamshu area and an extensive search ensued resulting in the vehicle being tracked and found abandoned in ‘A’ section Kwamashu.
Both vehicles were handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation and processing. The suspects in both incidents remain at large.
