What is the relevant legislation regarding the number of light allowed on a vehicle?

Question:

Good Morning. In view of the ongoing debate around LED lights and the legality thereof… Please direct me to the relevant legislation specific to the number of light allowed on a vehicle.

Answer:

There are various provisions that apply.

Reg 157 to 185 of the NRT regulations deal with this. You may not fit a spot lamp to a vehicle at all. You may fit an extra set of headlamps but they must comply with the headlamp requirements. The lens bar does not comply. Regulation 185 prohibits any lamps that are not allowed in terms of the Regulations.
