What are the Rules of the Road on Seatbelt Extenders?

I wanted to find out if it is okay to use a seatbelt extender? Is it even legal?

Answer:

Seat anchorages are regulated by regulation 213 and the SANS specifications listed below. If the seat belt extender complies with these requirements as far as I understand it will be legal. The specifications are available from the SABS – see www.sabs.co.za. Unfortunately, they are not free and you have to buy the specifications from the SABS.
