What are the Rules of the Road on Seatbelts and Vintage Cars?

Question:

We own a 1962 Ford Anglia.

These cars were manufactured WITHOUT seatbelts and are not even fitted with the anchor points.

By fitting such the vehicles value, being a classic, will immediately depreciate.

Please forward the relevant documentation with regards to this.

Answer:

If the vehicle was manufactured before 1965 it is considered a vintage car and only needs to comply with the legislation applicable at that time. As far as I know seat belts have only been fitted since 1965.
