What do I need to export a car across our borders?

Question:

I am a Zambian currently here on a study permit and would like to buy a car for export to Zambia. I was told I have to get authorization from there.

What exactly am I required to do?

Answer:

You need to obtain a traffic register number certificate that can be used as identification to register and license a vehicle on our National Traffic Information System.

You need a valid passport to apply for it and it is free of charge.
