What does the law say about cycling next to one another?

Question:

Could you please let me know if you are a cyclist and riding on the road… Do you have the right to ride side by side and block the traffic so that motorist can not pass you?

Please can you send me the rules of the road of cyclist so that I can print it in my local newspaper.

Answer: No they are not allowed.

Riding on pedal cycles

Reg 311. (2) Persons riding pedal cycles on a public road shall ride in single file except in the course of overtaking another pedal cycle, and two or more persons riding pedal cycles shall not overtake another vehicle at the same time.
