What is the Speed limit on the N3 National road for a 3.5T truck?

by jonckie@arrivealive.co.za

Question:

To whom it may concern… Please can someone help us out… We got a fine for one of our vehicles, a Hino 300 GVM 3500 on the N3. The fine states he was doing 92km/h what is the legal speed limit for a vehicle of this capacity on a National Road?

Answer:

The maximum speed limit for goods vehicles with a GVM of up to 9000 kg is the same as other vehicles – 120 km/h if there is no road sign bringing the speed down. There are many stretches on the N3 where the speed limit is 80 km/h

The NRT does not currently  have the 100 km/h in for the 3500 – 9000 kg goods vehicle class. It was published for comment in April 2014 for comment but it has not been published as a final regulation yet.
