did_you_know782Question:

To whom it may concern

I am a South African citizen, working and living in Saudi Arabia since 2006. My South African drivers license has expired. I have received a confirmation letter from the RTMC stating that my license is valid, and that only the document has expired. I have a valid Saudi Arabian drivers license. Can I legally drive in South Africa when visiting?

Answer:

You can legally drive with the Saudi licence, provided that it is in the language of the Republic or has a translation, issued by a competent authority attached.

The licence should also contain a photograph and signature of the holder.
