Check your engine oil with these 5 easy steps!

How to check your engine oil in 5 easy steps:

• Step 1

Ensure your vehicle is switched off and parked on level ground to ensure the reading is accurate. Allow the vehicle to cool down for +- 10-20 minutes.

• Step 2

Remove the dipstick and wipe off the excess oil with a clean lint-free cloth or paper towel.

• Step 3

Re-insert the dipstick, wait for a second before removing it again. Some vehicles will have a line marked FULL and others will have a textured area.

• Step 4

If the oil level is normal, re-insert back into the tube.

• Step 5

If the Oil level is low/dirty

• Feel the texture of the oil with your fingers, if the oil feels/appear gritty, black, milky or thick. It might be time for an oil change.
