Question:
One of my trucks of a customer suffered windscreen damage due to an accident.
We did remove it completely but it can not be replaced until the panel beater completes his work. The problem we have is that must still go to the panel beater.
Can you get a permit to drive the vehicle to the panel beater?
Answer:
Yes. It is called a special permit. It is issued for unroadworthy vehicles to allow for repairs and roadworthy testing. It is valid for 3 days. No passengers or goods may be transported in the vehicle while it has a special permit. It is issued in terms of regulation 84 of the National Road Traffic Regulations.
You apply for it at the registering authority.
