Shortly after 6PM on Monday, Marshall Security were alerted to a hijacking which had occurred in Cypress Drive in Glen Anil, north of Durban. Reports from the scene indicate that two men, armed with pistols, approached a vehicle as it was exiting a premises, ordering the driver to get out of the Volkswagen Polo GTI, hijacking it, before fleeing down towards Chris Hani (North Coast) Road.
The vehicle taken was fitted with a tracking device, monitored by BidTrack. A signal was found in the Inanda area and Marshall Security’s Special Operations team were called in to assist.
After an extensive tracking period, the vehicle was found abandoned off a main road in the area. The suspects remain at large.
The vehicle was secured and handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation.
