Is there an exemption for Sikh from wearing helmets on the motorbike?

I would like to inquire whether Sikh are exempted to wear helmets while riding motorcycle on South African roads. As in most of countries Sikhs are exempted from wearing helmets because Turban Tied by Sikhs serves same purpose as of helmet.

Answer:

There are currently no exemptions of this nature in the National Road Traffic Regulations. Regulation 207 requires a helmet for motorcyclists and cyclists.

The only persons who do not require helmets are riders and passengers on motorcycles that have seat belts.
