It is Illegal to Walk/Run across a Freeway or Park on a Freeway!

Question:

Good morning. We have a child who is regularly dropped off on the N3 highway in Buccleuch near our school. The child walks up the embankment and to the school. Please let me have the rules concerning this type of behaviour. Much appreciated.

Answer:

Reg 323 of the National Road Traffic Act applies. A person may not be on foot on a freeway. A vehicle may also not stop on a freeway.
