Police alert on alleged motor vehicle scam

NORTHERN CAPE – The SAPS hereby warns the community to be aware of an alleged motor vehicle scam doing its rounds in and around the Northern Cape Province.

It is alleged the scammer’s post photos of vehicles they have for sale on different social media platforms. They request a deposit prior to the delivery of the vehicles. The suspects ultimately never pitch up with the vehicle after receiving the cash deposit.

The Commander of the Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit, Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Boer requests that people be vigilant regarding this modus operandi.

Anyone with information or that has fallen victim to a similar scam must please come forward by calling Lieutenant Colonel Boer on 082 495 4921. The investigation continues.
