Marshall Security received a tip off shortly after 17h00 on Tuesday, that a vehicle fitting the description of one used in an armed robbery of a convenience store in Rinaldo Road on Sunday had been spotted in the area.
Armed reaction officers responded to the area and the vehicle was intercepted on Allamanda Road. On further investigation the vehicle was confirmed to have been involved in the armed robbery earlier in the week. With the assistance of the South African Police Services, a search of the vehicle was conducted which resulted in the discovery of two firearms as well as live ammunition.
The driver and vehicle were handed over to the SAPS for further investigation and processing.
