What are the Rules of the Road on large “Horse and trailers” in a residential area?

Hi there. I would like some information regarding the traffic rules for a residential area. Of recent there have been several large horse and trailers entering our residential area.

I would like to know if this is legal and if not where would I be able to find the actual law regulation on the use of trucks in residential areas. Please help.

Answer:

As long as it is a normal public road there are no restrictions on the vehicles that may use the road.

If there is a mass limit sign displayed vehicles that are bigger than the displayed limit are not allowed.

Some towns also have by-laws prohibiting big vehicles in town on certain conditions.

If no sign is displayed the vehicles are allowed.
