What licence would I need to tow a car recovery trailer?

Question:

What are the requirement to tow a trailer behind a car?

This is a Car recovery trailer, 3500kg GVM double axle.

Trailer details:

Deck 4.9m x 2.03m with hydraulic tilting and 1800mm ramps

Do you need a special drivers licence to tow a trailer of this capacity.

Answer:

You require an EB licence for a trailer over 750 kg GVM but I do not think the combination will be legal from a loading and brake perspective if it is a normal car and the trailer does not have a coupled service brake.
