Being a “petrol-head” is commonplace for many South Africans. With two particularly stellar race tracks, Killarney in Cape Town and Kyalami in Johannesburg, South Africa is able to keep car enthusiasts enthralled. There are many different motor shows in and around the country and no matter whether you’re into technologically advanced, exotic, luxury rides or vintage rebuilds you can find something to interest and inspire you.

If you are a car enthusiast who is interested in building or modifying vehicles to resell, then attending these events will see you becoming well connected to the right people. The very people who can assist you with the sale of your vehicle. Preparing to privately sell any car is an admin-heavy task. With your run-of-the-mill vehicles, a private sale is a simple albeit laborious task. But, selling a vintage car or a one-of-a-kind vehicle can prove trickier. You won’t be able to simply look online to ascertain a going rate. You won’t be able to use a regular car book value calculator for pricing or have any old mechanic do safety checks or give it the roadworthiness stamp of approval. You will need advice and guidance from those who have some real “know-how” about moving vintage or luxury vehicles. By attending car shows you are able to form a community who have that important knowledge. You will have exposure to both buyers and sellers and essentially a marketplace for you to make some real money off your hobby.

If your passion is cars then you are likely looking for incredible events to attend. You could show off your prized possession and join a club full of members with a similar interest by checking out these events and clubs. They will also offer you a couple of friendly races with your speedster or a scenic drive with your vintage comfort ride.
