Vosloorus SAPS in partnership with VCPF, VCPF Patrollers, EMPD, Ekurhuleni Traffic Wardens and the Department of Community Safety Traffic Wardens held a Hijacking Awareness Campaign at hijacking hot spots, road intersections and at Chris Hanni Crossings Shopping Mall to make the community aware of the escalating cases of hijacking reported in the area. Initially, local taxis were targeted but the focus has now shifted to luxurious and expensive cars such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Recently a Range Rover was also taken.
Local media, Tame Times Newspaper also assisted by donating posters and printing articles in the newspaper. The local radio station Kasie FM has since Monday been broadcasting awareness crime tips about hijackings. #Vosloorushijackingmustfall
