What is the Law on transporting goods such as a stepladder in your vehicle?

Question:

Good day.. can you plz advise as to what the SA law states when transporting goods eg. A stepladder inside your vehicle?

Answer:

You are allowed to carry something in your vehicle. It may not project more than 1.8 m to the rear.

You need a red warning flag attached to it.
