Residents are urged to be vigilant and take the necessary precautions to safeguard themselves and their property as suspects are actively involved in their winter crime-spree and use the weather and cover of darkness to their advantage.
A Lotus Drive resident was alerted to a crime in progress on her property around 5am this morning when she spotted a suspect removing the battery from her vehicle.
The Alpha client activated her panic alarm and Alpha Response Unit was swiftly dispatched to the premises. The suspect fled with the battery. It is believed that the suspect scaled a fence and entered the property. The driver side window was removed and left on the ground.
Alpha Response searched the area for any signs of the suspect but no arrest was made. SAPS responded to the premises as well.
