A silver 1 Series 1.18i BMW that was hijacked in Redcliffe – KZN was recovered by Reaction Officers today (Sunday).
On Friday, a man was consuming alcohol with a friend at a tavern on Todd Street near Grangetown, KZN. He requested to borrow his drinking buddy’s vehicle to proceed to his residence to pick up a jacket. He was hijacked by the occupants of an unknown vehicle while returning to the tavern.
They forced the victim into the rear of his car and sped off in the direction of Canelands – KZN. The man was dumped in a cane field and sought assistance from residents of a compound.
This morning (Sunday), the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Centre received a tip-off that the vehicle had been spotted in Mahlabatini, KZN.
Reaction Officers converged on the area and recovered the car abandoned.
