Question:
As per GG 32959 published on 17 February 2010 the valid period of a learner’s licence was extended from 18 to 24 months. My understanding is that this became effective as of that date i.e. 17 February 2010.
I passed my learner’s licence for a motorcycle on 25 February 2010 but the licence period of validity was only done for 18 months i.e. 25/02/2010 to 24/08/2011. What can I do to have this rectified and corrected to the full period of 24 months?
Answer:
You can go to your local DLTC and obtain a duplicate learner’s licence (LL) free of charge.
The DLTC must mark the original LL as misprinted.
