The Tshwane Central police took into their stride the spirit of renewal in their quest to ensure that a sense of security is instilled into their communities when they struck several heavy blows at motor vehicle thieves during weekend’s crime prevention operations.
Out of forty-four (44) suspects that were caught in the cluster following the execution of the intelligence-driven patrols, surveillance and sting operations, seven were found in possession of alleged stolen motor vehicles and two for allegedly breaking and stealing out of motor vehicles.
In the wake of the recent successes achieved within the cluster, the police warned the local homeowners to be vigilant when engaging the services of strangers for domestic-related piece jobs following two incidents in Silverton and Sunnyside respectively, where cases of house robbery are being investigated after former gardeners allegedly robbed the homes of their previous employers.
Members of the public are encouraged to report those responsible for criminal activities, including corruption, to the law enforcement agencies. Information may be forwarded anonymously to Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or by SMS to Crime Line on 32211.
The suspects arrested during the weekend’s operations are expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s soon.
