Road Makings: What is the difference between a single solid line and double solid lines on the road?

The difference is highlighted below in yellow. You may turn across a single line into a property on the opposite side of the road or from the property into the lane. This action is not allowed with a double line.

Two solid lines with a broken line have the same meaning, and two solid lines with a yellow line in the middle is a traffic island.
