Durban Metro Police Service Trio Crime Team, in collaboration with South African Police Service and private security partners, successfully recovered two hijacked municipality vehicles and a firearm following swift action and intelligence-driven operations.
The incident occurred on Monday, 26 May 2025 in Mpumalanga Township, they were hijacked and robbed of their belongings, including two vehicles, a white VW Polo TSI and a yellow-and-white Isuzu D-Max.
Members acted on tracking data and located both vehicles in Mpumalanga Township. Further investigation led to a house search where a firearm with a filed-off serial number, a signal jammer, and various other items were discovered and seized.
