At approximately 02h50 on the morning of 27 May, the KZN VIP Control Centre received a call from a concerned community member reporting an attempted theft of a motor vehicle at a home on Nedlen.
KZN VIP immediately dispatched all available response officers to the location. Upon arrival, officers interviewed the complainant, who stated that they were alerted by unusual noises outside the property. On further investigation, the complainant discovered a suspect inside their white Isuzu bakkie, which was parked along the roadside.
The complainant’s intervention caused the suspects to flee the scene in an unidentified vehicle heading toward Esselen. KZN VIP officers confirmed signs of tampering on the driver’s side door and the vehicle’s ignition system.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) was informed of the incident with I/R 102156.
KZN VIP continues to urge residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately to help combat vehicle related crimes in the area.
