A 55-year-old man was abducted during a hijacking at his home on Saturday night on Palmview Drive in Palmview – Phoenix.
It is alleged that approximately 20:00 the victim informed his family that he was proceeding to a local service station to top up the pressure on his vehicle’s tyres. When he got into his unlocked Chev Cruise with registration ND 399 730, an African male was found hiding inside the vehicle. The suspect drew a firearm and instructed the man to drive in the direction of Tongaat where they were met by two other suspects driving a red BMW. The victim was forced into the BMW and asked to lie on the floor. The suspects drove to an isolated area were they dropped the victim off.
The man wandered through the cane throughout the night and continuously lost his sense of direction due to the darkness. During the early parts of yesterday morning he managed to locate a home near the main road where he sought assistance. Authorities were contacted and the victim was reunited with his family.
