ER24 paramedics in the Cape district had their hands full today thus far, as they attended to no less than 12 motor vehicle collisions.
The collisions occurred in various regions all over the Cape and ranged in severity. The first of many collisions occurred this morning on Old Paarl road. 2 people died at the scene and 17 others sustained various injuries ranging from scrapes and bruises to multiple broken bones. The rain continued to torment the Capetonian motorist’s as a flurry of 11 other collisions occurred. The worst occurred between 14:00 and 15:00 as paramedics attended to 5 motor vehicle collisions in that single hour.
Most of the collisions involved the vehicle’s being written off. The occupants involved in the collisions were fortunate as they sustained only minor injuries.
