What type of driving licence is needed to tow a trailer or caravan?

Question:

Can you please give me the correct info on the type of drivers licence necessary to tow a trailer or caravan?

Some places say only B others say EB.

It’s very confusing.

If I’m in an accident I want to make sure I’m covered.

Answer:

If the trailer has a GVM exceeding 750 kg you need an EB licence. A B is sufficient if the trailer’s GVM does not exceed 750 kg.
